The Miniflex DVC™ Microduct is a small optical cable inner-duct for use in premises' local access infrastructure. It is particularly suited to deploying fibre to MDUs since it does not require expensive blowing equipment to install fibre through it.

The Miniflex DVC™ Microduct has high crush resistance and bend-limiting features. It has a smooth bore with a unique velocity conserving lining that enables easier fibre cable installation and longer routes to be achieved.

For an optical fibre infrastructure, this fire retardant, low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) inner-duct can be used as a general purpose pre-installed product for burial in rendered walls and floors, or used in risers, cable ducts, cable troughs or surfacelaid over ceilings. A plenum rated version is under development.

For external applications, direct burial or multiple sub-duct installations, UVstabilised black polypropylene versions offer high levels of protection with bend limiting flexibility.

Applications
The DVC™ Microduct from Miniflex is designed for use in the last few hundred metres of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) installations. In tests it has been shown that Miniflex's TuffNut™ Cable can be pushed through a complex DVC™ Microduct route of approximately 100m with 16 bends of 90° at 6-inch radius in 3 minutes.

In a Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU), the DVC™ Microduct presents a craft- friendly conduit that is easy to install and can withstand rough handling.
